August 15 - The Murrayville Boots Together ... FINALLY! ;)
So here they are, together at last! I found my boot's buddy, but it was right back where I started - in Langley. Since Elaine's boot had mysteriously stayed behind, I waited until I returned to get these pictures of them together.Elaine's dad was gracious enough to pose with the boots and I ... it's amazing what he did for his daughter's crazy friend! Thanks Bruce!

July 23 - Nest by the front door
I saw this nest by the front door of the main house where I live (I'm in the suite). I had some fun for a few hours taking pictures of these birds and their momma. The nest is located at the top of the pillar holding up the roof over the front entrance by the door. You can guess what is at the bottom of the pillar ... lots of bird poop!
If anyone knows what kind of birds they are, please post a comment and let me know ... I have no clue!

50 Wedding Anniversary in Vernon - July 20 to 22
Scenery on my way to Vernon for Ed & Anita's anniversary celebration. I lived in their suite while I was going to school there.
A view of Kalamalka Lake from their home (they moved closer to the lake since I lived with them).
Relatives enjoying the open house overlooking the lake from the veranda.
Taking the chocolate fountain apart ... I helped 'clean' it up a bit after I took this picture - mmmmmmmmm.
They are a very musical family. Anita is in the blue dress.
Here is Ed singing.
July 21 - at the official celebration.
They had pictures from their wedding and 25th anniversary, which was a great idea!
The head table.
Here they are serving the cake!
July 22 - Anita with a young relative - he is either a grand nephew or great grand nephew, I can't recall which.
Some more amazing views of Kal Lake from their backyard.

My abode while in Vernon
While I was in Vernon for Ed & Anita's anniversary, I stayed with my friends Shaun & Peter. I went to school with Shaun. Thank you for opening your home to me for the weekend!
Here is Shaun with their tenant's son.
And here are their kids: Shirelle (youngest)
... Peter (oldest)
... and Jared (middle). It was great to spend time with them ... last time I saw them, Jared was less than a year old. We'll have to get together a bit more often than we have so far! ;)

30 June - Korean neighbours leaving.
I've had the privilege of being neighbours with 4 Korean girls & their supervisor for the past year. They arrived last summer to learn English by immersion for 1 year in a BC elementary school. Here, they are taking a break from packing the whole house, as they will not be back here for the next school year (the boy is the supervisors son). They went to Disneyland 1st and then back home to Korea.
